New York Giants' John Harbaugh: Odell Beckham Jr. 'is an option'
New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh says WR Odell Beckham Jr. "is an option" for the team and they will assess if a reunion makes sense.
New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh addressed the possibility of signing veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. during the NFC coaches' breakfast on Monday morning, stating that the team will evaluate all available options as the offseason progresses. "You look at every option, and Odell is an option," Harbaugh said.
Harbaugh described Beckham as "one of my very favorite people in the world" and noted that the two continue to text regularly. He added that the Giants will assess whether a reunion makes sense for both sides. Beckham, 33, originally starred with the Giants from 2014 to 2019 before being traded to the Cleveland Browns.
He played under Harbaugh with the Baltimore Ravens in 2023, where he emerged as the team's second-leading receiver and contributed to Lamar Jackson's MVP season. Recent speculation about Beckham's return has intensified. Star receiver Malik Nabers, a fellow LSU product, publicly commented, " Let's play together ," on one of Beckham's Instagram posts.
Beckham has also expressed excitement about potentially teaming with rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, calling the idea something he " would love " if the opportunity arises. A fan petition urging the Giants to bring back Beckham has garnered thousands of signatures, which the wideout has acknowledged and encouraged . Though past his prime, Beckham could provide veteran leadership and depth to a receiving corps headlined by Nabers, offering mentorship while contributing in a rotational role.
