It's time for the NFL's annual spring meeting. That means a week of mildly interesting rules discussions and a whole lot of offseason speculation. For the Philadelphia Eagles, that means trade talks.

While the team's desire to land a second round pick in exchange for backup quarterback Tanner McKee is an intriguing "B" plot, this offseason's reports and rumors have instead swirled around the status of unhappy Pro Bowl wide receiver A. J. Brown.

Brown saw his impact wane in head coach Nick Sirianni's offense last season as the Eagles crashed out of the postseason in a frustrating Super Bowl follow-up. Now he reportedly wants out, and a trade could come as early as June 2 -- the day his contract leaves significantly less dead money behind on Philadelphia's salary cap . While rumors linking the New England Patriots and Eagles to a deal that would ship Brown north have flickered on and off like the neon vacancy sign of an aging motel throughout the offseason, there's nothing official in place.
