The Oklahoma Sooners moved up in Softball America's latest top 25 rankings after their series win over the LSU Tigers.
The Oklahoma Sooners earned an 8-4 win over LSU to complete a top-25 series win over the weekend in Baton Rouge. The Sooners went 6-1 during their seven-game road trip. After their weekend in Louisiana, the Sooners moved up two spots in the latest top 25 rankings from Softball America .
The Sooners are now No. 3 in the nation behind Texas and Texas Tech, the two teams that beat OU in the Women's College World Series last year. The Longhorns took two of three from Texas A&M, while the Red Raiders outscored the Iowa State Cyclones 36-9 in a three-game sweep in Lubbock.
Two teams fell out of the top five this week after dropping their SEC series over the weekend. After a long run at the top of the rankings, the Tennessee Volunteers have now fallen out of the top 10 after dropping two of three to the Ole Miss Rebels. The Florida Gators lost two of three against the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Alabama moved up two spots to No. 4 this week after going 4-0 in nonconference play. The Nebraska Cornhuskers make their first appearance in the top five after a series win over the UCLA Bruins in a top-10 Big Ten matchup.
