Braylon Mullins came to UConn as one of the most-hyped freshmen in the country in what will go down to be known as "The Year of the Freshmen. " But he, unlike most of the phenoms, didn't get off to a fast start. He didn't even play early in the year due to injury.
The wait was worth it. Mullins may have had a bumpy freshman campaign. But he rose to the moment when called upon.
The Huskies got a miracle deflection away from Cayden Boozer. Alex Karaban did the unselfish thing and dished to Mullins. And there he stood, down two points, feet on the logo, one shot between him and history.
