Doc Rivers says injuries ruined Bucks season that was hopeless anyway
Doc Rivers has every right to lament injuries as the Bucks' coach. That doesn't mean they would've ever went anywhere, though.
It's easy to forget now, but amid all the tension surrounding superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo's playing future , the Milwaukee Bucks do, in fact, have a whole basketball team that, like everyone else, tends to play real NBA games every other night. (Wait, really? ) The problem for the Bucks, both in the Giannis situation and otherwise, is that they tend to play forgettable basketball .
At the time of this writing, Milwaukee is just 29-45 and sits near the bottom of the Eastern Conference. The Bucks don't do anything well as a team, are often injured (though, is Antetokounmpo actually healthy right now? ), and have clearly been playing out the string for significant portions of this season.
Ask Bucks head coach Doc Rivers, and he'll tell you a different story. If not for injuries, says Rivers, this year's Bucks (and recent years' Bucks) would've been a more serious operation, rather than getting eliminated, in some fashion, in early spring. Unless Rivers specifically means playoff contenders (which, sure), uh, may I add a rebuttal?
... would they have? Doc Rivers, on the Bucks officially being eliminated from playoff contention: https://t.
