Providence Friar Duncan Powell arrested on domestic disolrderly charge
Cranston police responded to a Plainfield Pike residence and arrested the Friars forward.
Duncan Powell, a Providence College men's basketball player, was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct, according to Cranston police records. Powell, 23, of Providence, was arrested as a result of a disturbance at 1440 Plainfield Pike in Cranston at 2:44 a. m.
on March 28. According to a WJAR report, Powell allegedly threatened his ex-girlfriend and her friends, and Cranston police were called. Powell is a graduate student and Dallas, Texas, native, who previously played at Georgia Tech before joining Providence for the 2025-26 season.
The Friars dismissed former coach Kim English on March 13, and hired former South Florida coach Bryan Hodgson as the new head coach on March 22.
