Jerry Jones doesn't always go after big free agents, but he often pays his best players a ton of cash. That's true for DaRon Bland, even if it may not be warranted. Bland, currently playing on a $90 million contract that makes him the sixth-highest paid cornerback in the NFL, has been called the most overpaid player on the entire Cowboys roster in a new article by Bleacher Report's Brad Gagnon .
"Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark were also strong candidates with output that doesn't align with $20-plus million AAVs, but Bland is the clear-cut winner," Gagnon writes. "The 2022 fifth-round pick has one good season under his belt, but that was enough to earn him a four-year, $90 million deal. He's missed significant time while being consistently rocked in coverage when on the field the last two seasons, all as the sixth-highest-paid corner in the sport.

In his rookie season, though, Bland picked off five passes, and then in 2023, he snatched nine INTs. That was enough to earn him a huge payday, but Bland has just one pick total across the last two seasons and has become troublesome in coverage.
