Josh Schertz staying at Saint Louis, per reports

NC State just met with Schertz on Saturday, so I appreciate that he made a quick decision.
Given the nice extension he just got from Saint Louis, this isn’t a terribly surprising development—he’s in a position where he can afford to be picky about where he goes next, and he may want to wait and see if a bigger opportunity awaits in a year or two. Can’t blame him for that. NC State also met with Justin Gainey on Saturday (along with Furman’s Bob Richey), and the expectation is that he will be the Pack’s new top option.
With Tennessee’s NCAA tournament run looking like it’s going to end today, an agreement could be in place quickly. I’m totally on board with Gainey if that’s where this search winds up.
