The Orioles made a move during their matchup with the Minnesota Twins on Sunday.

The Baltimore Orioles and the Los Angeles Angels continue to establish their business partnership. After the Orioles sent right-handed pitcher Grayson Rodriguez to the Angels for outfielder Taylor Ward over the offseason, the two teams made another trade on Sunday. Los Angeles sent Baltimore southpaw pitcher Jayvien Sandridge for cash considerations, via Angels PR.

The Orioles drafted the Maryland native No. 955 overall out of high school in 2018 before they released him in 2020. Sandridge then played college ball at Lynn University before signing with the Cincinnati Reds in 2021.

The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder rose to Double-A in 2023 before electing free agency after the season. He then signed with the San Diego Padres and rose to Triple-A in 2024 before signing with the New York Yankees the following offseason. Sandridge logged 38 minor-league appearances with the Yankees in 2025, but finally made his MLB debut on July 5 against the New York Mets.

He allowed two earned runs on one hit with two strikeouts, two walks, and one hit batter over 0. 2 innings in the 12-6 loss. The Yankees then traded Sandridge to the Angels for cash considerations in January, and he allowed five earned runs over two spring training innings for the latter club.
