Ireland’s Shane Lowry has made highlight-reel shots at some of golf’s most renowned courses. Entering final-round play on Sunday, March 29, at the Texas Children’s Houston Open, Lowry boasted holes-in-one at Augusta National, TPC Sawgrass and Pebble Beach. Now, Lowry can add Memorial Park in Houston to that list.
The venue may be less prestigious, but he isn’t complaining. The ball took a couple of small bounces on the green, then rolled straight toward the hole.
It hit the flag and did a half-circle around the cup before falling in. Lowry responded by raising his hands and high-fiving his playing partners. ESPN’s X account shared video of the shot.
Lowry began play tied for 38th, 12 shots behind leader Gary Woodland. The ace didn’t give him much momentum. Through seven holes, Lowry stood at 1-under for the day and in 36th place.
