Greg Schiano gives update on two veteran defensive pieces
Rutgers will get reinforcements back along the defensive line.
Rutgers made major changes to the defensive side of the ball โ on and off the field. The Scarlet Knights hired Travis Johansen to be the new defensive coordinator. Head coach Greg Schiano also brought in many new pieces through the transfer portal.
On top of all the new additions, Rutgers might be getting back two veterans along the defensive line. Schiano gave updates on defensive tackles Keshon Griffin and Zaire Angoy during his first spring press conference last week. Griffin is set to return while the team awaits a decision on Angoy.
Both players petitioned for another year of eligibility. A decision has not come yet on Angoy but he is able to participate in practices, which he did in the winter as well. โKeshon has been cleared,โ Schiano said.
โHe is a go. Weโre still waiting on Zaire but itโs legal for him to practice. Heโs participated in the whole winter program and Iโm hopeful that will happen soon.
