Chase DeLauter Has Another Historic Game in Guardians Win

Yahoo Sports

Chase DeLauter hit his fourth home run in three games in the Cleveland Guardians' win over the Seattle Mariners.

Chase DeLauter is currently exceeding any hype that he had coming into the season. He always had the talent and potential to be one of the better hitters in the Cleveland Guardians ’ lineup, but no one saw this coming through his first three regular-season games. The Guardians managed to pull off an extra-inning victory over the Seattle Mariners on Saturday night, 6-5.

A large part of that win had to do with, yes, another DeLauter home run. DeLauter was 0-for-5 heading into the ninth inning in what was largely a pretty rough night at the plate. The rookie had struck out three times off Seattle pitching.

However, when the Guardians needed it most, DeLauter did what he’s done so far this season, and that’s hit another home run. It looked like he was just trying to make contact with a fastball close to the zone with two strikes, but DeLauter’s pure strength helped him push it over the left field wall for an opposite-field home run. Chase DeLauter, you are unbelievable.
