The Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver is two years into his NCAA career, likely with just one left before leaving for the NFL. And this offseason, teams wanted him to transfer to their program. That is, of course, despite Smith never entering the transfer portal.
Everyone sort of assumes tampering happens. Smith affirmed that in recent comments to local reporters . He also explained that one school, which he wouldn't name, was particularly involved in the pursuit.
“I knew especially at the end of (the Cotton Bowl) that a certain program was going to come at me very hard," Smith said. "Not gonna say no names, I think everybody here knows who it was. But I wasn’t goin’ nowhere.
