Each of these three options offers something completely different stylistically, and the choice could say a lot about how Germany wants to approach the game. Let’s start with Kai Havertz. On paper, he’s still the most established name of the trio and arguably the most versatile.

Havertz thrives in fluid attacking systems, dropping into midfield, linking play, and creating space for wingers. If Nagelsmann wants control, positional interchange, and a more possession-heavy approach, Havertz feels like the safe and familiar option. The downside?

He’s not a traditional striker, and Germany has at times lacked a true focal point when he leads the line. Then there’s Deniz Undav, who might be the most “in-form striker” profile of the group. Undav brings penalty-box instincts, sharp movement, and a natural eye for goal.
