Michigan, Texas, South Carolina and TCU looked unquestionably elite in Sweet 16 victories

The Elite Eight field is complete, as Michigan, Texas, South Carolina and TCU took care of business in the Sweet 16.

Olivia Miles. | Getty Images Saturday’s NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 action didn’t exactly provide the thrills and chills that makes March magical. Dominance, more than drama, ruled the day.

The day’s final game, at least, did not totally slam the door on any excitement, even as No. 3-seed TCU completed a double-digit win, 79-69, over No. 10-seed Virginia.

The Horned Frogs, however, came out of the break on a mission, using a 17-4 burst to grab control of the game. The Cavaliers still mustered a late charge, applying defensive aggression to sever the lead down to six points with under 30 seconds to go. But, two TCU free throws, a missed UVA triple and a final Horned Frog basket sealed the still-comfortable win.
