The co-main event produced one of the most savage knockouts in recent memory as a former champion made a violent statement on her path back to title contention.
Eleven stoppages in 13 fights made this the most action-packed MMA event of the year with four highlight-reel knockouts and controversy throughout the card. The UFC Seattle card was the best MMA event of the year and second place isn't close. After 13 fights, we had a little bit of everything.
There were 11 stoppages--including four savage knockouts--controversy, and a fight that appeared to be a clear Fight of the Night. In the main event, Joe Pyfer defeated former champion Israel Adesanya via second-round TKO. With all due respect to Pyfer , Adesanya's performance was the only disappointing aspect of the event.
After dominating the first round and the first aspect of the second, he completely lost his mind and decided to brawl with an opponent whose only chance to win was if Adesanya chose to fight him that way. Ultimately, he got caught, taken down and dragged into Pyfer's world. Pyfer pounded Adesanya out forcing referee Dan Miragliotta to call a halt to the fight.
