Alabama walked off Auburn to clinch a second straight SEC series win. Brennan Holt started the bottom of the ninth with a double before Bryce Fowler doubled into the gap for the walk off and a 3-2 win over the No. 5 Tigers (20-6, 4-4 SEC).
The Crimson Tide saw just two pitches in the ninth inning. No. 23 Alabama (21-7, 5-3) is riding a six game win streak following a sweep of Florida while Auburn is in the midst of a four game losing streak in SEC play.
Auburn got the scoring going in the first inning on a pass ball. It is the fourth straight SEC game that the Crimson Tide allowed a first inning run. Alabama took the lead with small ball in the fourth inning with RBIs from Will Plattner and Luke Vaughn.
Alabama got 6⅓ from Zane Adams, who struck out eight batters allowing four hits and one run. Auburn got five innings from Jackson Sanders with six strikeouts but allowed two runs on seven hits. Ryan Hetzler pitched three scoreless innings of relief before allowing the walkoff in the ninth.
