UNC football lands 2027 3-star linebacker from New Jersey
Three-star linebacker Tasheem Butler, ranked No. 54 nationally, has committed to play for North Carolina football.
North Carolina football may be in the limelight of the vacant job opening for its blue-blood basketball program , but that doesn’t mean people should stop paying attention to what’s happening at the Kenan Football Center. Linebacker Tasheem Butler, out of Glassboro, New Jersey, committed to play for Bill Belichick and the Tar Heels . The 6-foot, 230-pound linebacker also has offers from fellow ACC schools Pitt and Syracuse, along with UConn, James Madison and Temple, among others.
Butler is a three-star prospect and is ranked the No. 54 linebacker in the nation by the 247Sports Composite. He’s also the No.
17 player in New Jersey. Last fall, Butler registered 138 tackles, including 34 tackles for loss. He recorded eight sacks, a pass breakup and a forced fumble.
He has an official visit to Carolina scheduled for June 5. UNC picked up its second commitment on Saturday when 3-star class of 2027 LB Tasheem Butler opted to play for Bill Belichick and the Tar Heels. https://t.
