South Bay Lakers recap: Bronny James leads Lakers to win in final game
In the 2025-26 G League regular-season finale, the Lakers got a big performance by Bronny James and clinched the top seed in the Western Conference.
The South Bay Lakers wrapped up their regular season schedule on Saturday with a home game against the Sioux Falls Skyforce. At stake for them was the top seed in the G League's Western Conference, and they didn't exactly get complacent, knowing that they needed either a win or a loss by the Mexico City Capitanes. South Bay held a modest lead for most of the first half, but the Skyforce made things tight afterward.
However, down the stretch, South Bay had enough of the right answers, as it powered its way to a 140-132 win. Power forward Drew Timme carried the offensive load early, and he ended up with 36 points on 16-of-27 field-goal shooting, 16 rebounds and eight assists. Guard R.
J. Davis had 18 points and four assists, Dalton Knecht scored 18 points, to go along with eight rebounds and four assists and Arthur Kaluma added 15 points off the bench. Bronny James was the main reason the Lakers were able to hold off Sioux Falls in the fourth quarter.
He finished with 26 points on 9-of-12 overall shooting and 6-of-8 from downtown, and he hit three of his treys in the final period. He also registered seven rebounds, five assists and one steal. pic.
