The Sunshine State has been a gloomy place so far for Arizona. The Wildcats lost 13-3 at UCF in eight innings on Saturday, ensuring they’ll head into Sunday with a third series loss in as many tries in Big 12 play. They entered the final game of the previous two series with a chance to take them before losing.

UCF (17-8, 7-1 Big 12) cranked out 17 hits against Arizona pitching, knocking Smith Bailey out after four innings. The sophomore right-hander allowed four runs and nine hits, needing 90 pitches. The Knights put the game away with three runs in the 6 th and then scored six times in the 8 th to enact the mercy rule.

Arizona (9-17, 2-6) finished with only three hits, one of those a solo home run by Andrew Cain , which pleased the many ex-UA players in attendance. that one was for y'all @AdonysGuzman3 @jaxonkent22 @BrendanSummerh1 💣 @AndrewCain_19 sends that ball to the 🌘 and we're all tied up! pic.
