Six-run sixth takes Myrtle past Baldwyn

MYRTLE – Saturday was a litmus test of sorts for two area teams. The home team passed. The Myrtle Hawks broke a tie and put up six runs in the bottom of the sixth to beat the Baldwyn Bearcats 8-5.

” Myrtle (13-4) had runners on second and third with one out in the sixth. Wes Stanton then hit a ground ball that went right through the first baseman’s legs. Two runs scored to make it 4-2 Hawks.
