After leading the Blue Devils on a historic run, Pounders is the Daily Journal’s 2025-26 Boys Soccer Player of the Year. “I’m definitely really excited,” he said. “It was kind of surprising at first, but I think it's really a testament to how hard our team has worked, and not just even an individual award, but how we've had success as a team this year, too.

” Pounders led the Blue Devils with 43 goals and was tied for the team lead with 12 assists. His effort was a big reason for Booneville’s best season in the program’s seven-year history. The Blue Devils finished 21-3, which included first place in Class I Region 1 and the team’s first ever North half final appearance.
