Dodgers Make Change After Shohei Ohtani Cup Controversy
The Los Angeles Dodgers have shifted course after facing backlash over the price and value of their Shohei Ohtani souvenir cup. On Opening Day, the cup went viral for its price: $75, plus taxes, bringing the total to $82. At the time, there were only unlimited refills for the day of purchase.
However, the Dodgers have pivoted in response to fans voicing their opinions, lowering the price to $68. 99, with sales tax bringing it over $70. It includes refills all season long, per Arash Markazi.

With the price change and unlimited refills, fans are starting to change their tune about the cup. “Now that’s actually a deal if you go to enough games,” one X user said.
“That Cup went from a scam to possibly the biggest steal if you go to more than 10 games,” another said. “And it’s limited edition? Total bargain,” a third added.
