Andrew McCutchen plays role late as Texas Rangers pick up first victory of MLB 2026 season.

While it took 10 innings and, after blowing a three-run lead, the Texas Rangers found a way to get past the Philadelphia Phillies ย 5-4 on Saturday at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. This is a big win early for the Rangers, who gave new manager Skip Schumaker his first win as the team's new skipper. Andrew McCutchen played a big role in a two-run 10th inning as the Rangers found a way to defeat the Phillies.

Texas pushed Jacob Latz into an emergency start, and he went four shutout innings. Jacob deGrom woke up with neck stiffness, so he missed his Saturday start. But he's in line to get back out there for his next start.

In the 10th, the Rangers' Wyatt Langford connected for a single off Phillies star closer Jhoan Duran. On the play, Texas' automatic runner Brandon Nimmo went to third base. Then, Duran, who took the loss, threw a wild pitch, and Nimmo scored for a 4-3 Ranges lead.
