(10-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) had a lot to prove in his second promotional appearance on the prelims of UFC Fight Night 271 at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle. At 2:56 of the first round, Gibson Jr. had Hooper (16-5-1 MMA, 8-5 UFC) out of sorts, earning his first UFC victory by TKO.
A beautiful short elbow while framing off a clinch attempt put Hooper on wobbly legs. It was a severely damaging strike, and Gibson Jr. immediately followed up with hard kicks and punches as Hooper attempted to grab hold to survive the moment.
