Could Newcastle Lost Two Of Its Best Players In The Summer?
Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali have both been linked with summer transfers away from Newcastle United after a difficult season for the Magpies.
Newcastle United has had a taste of the big time in recent seasons. Indeed, the Magpies have played in the Champions League in two of the last three campaigns. This season, Eddie Howe’s team matched Barcelona in a round of 16 first leg only to suffer defeat in the second leg at the Camp Nou.

Since then, though, Newcastle’s development has stalled.
Worse than that, the team has regressed this season. Sitting a lowly 12th in the Premier League table, Howe is facing questions about his future as Newcastle United manager with the club the subject of much speculation around its best players. Both Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali have been linked with a move away from St James’ Park in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Guimaraes is reportedly a target for Manchester United, and with good reason. The Brazilian is one of the most accomplished midfielders in the Premier League and deserves to play at the highest level of the English and European game. United’s level would be elevated by the addition of Guimaraes at the end of the season.
