No. 4 Tennessee (29-5, 6-5 SEC) continued a three-game Southeastern Conference softball series on Saturday against Ole Miss (23-14, 2-9 SEC). The Rebels won, 2-1, at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.
Ole Miss recorded its first series win at Tennessee in program history. Karlyn Pickens started for the Lady Vols and pitched seven innings. She recorded six strikeouts and 128 pitches, including 76 strikes, against 30 batters.
The right-handed pitcher allowed two runs (one earned), four walks and hit one batter. Ole Miss hit 11 groundouts and three fly outs against Pickens. Tennessee's offense produced six hits, including one double each from Sophia Knight and Maddi Rutan.
The Rebels defeated Tennessee, 2-1, in Game 1 on Friday, recording its first win in Knoxville since 2008. A series finale between the Lady Vols and Rebels will be contested on Sunday. First pitch is slated for 1:30 p.
