LEEDS, AL โ€“ Will Power crashed in the first round of qualifying for IndyCar's Children's of Alabama Indy Grand Prix and he'll now start Sunday's race in 23rd. As Power entered Turn 5 at Barber Motorsports Park, the rear brakes on his No. 26 Andretti Global Honda failed, causing Power to go straight into the wall.

Power exited the car under his own power and was seen and released from IndyCar's medical unit. A scary crash for Will Power in Barber qualifying. He got out under his own power.

This is Power's fourth race with Andretti Global after 17 years at Team Penske. Now, Power will start near the back of the grid. Power made his way to the lead position after starting 25th in the Good Ranchers 250, but contact with Christian Rasmussen led to him finishing 16th in the race.
