Cam Boozer, Isaiah Evans praise Caleb Foster's inspiring return
Caleb Foster returned from injury Friday, providing the Blue Devils with 11 points in 19 minutes. After the game, his teammates praised his impact.
Despite trailing at halftime, the Duke Blue Devils came back to beat the St. John's Red Storm 80-75, punching their ticket to the Elite Eight. Cameron Boozer led the way as usual, finishing with a 22-point, 10-rebound double-double.
Isaiah Evans also impressed, scoring 25 points on 10-for-15 shooting, making four of the team's five three-pointers. Bu it was Caleb Foster's production in his return from injury, adding 11 points in 19 minutes off the bench, that made the difference. Following the game, Evans spoke about Foster's return and what it's meant to have him back in the lineup.
"Caleb has been a leader for us since day one," he said. "Just him coming back just gave us a tremendous boost, insurmountable confidence, even though we had high confidence anyway. " Boozer echoed the same sentiment, saying, "Just his voice, his competitive spirit really uplifted us.
That was a huge part why we went on a run was him talking to us, getting us going, getting downhill and being himself, being confident. " Looking ahead to the Elite Eight, Duke will have another tough opponent in store as they face the UConn Huskies, who've won two of the last three NCAA titles.
