The New York Jets held a pre-draft pro day meeting with a dynamic linebacker prospect, according to reports.

The New York Jets underwent some changes at linebacker this offseason. The team parted ways with starter Quincy Williams, who signed a contract with the Cleveland Browns in free agency. General manager Darren Mougey responded to that departure by signing Demario Davis, a veteran linebacker who reunites with the Jets after previously playing for head coach Aaron Glenn.

Davis projects as a strong culture fit and locker room leader. The Jets could stand to improve at linebacker. Right now, they're reliant on back-end players like Kiko Mauigoa and Mykal Walker to make an impact.

The 2026 NFL draft represents an opportunity to target another linebacker capable of being a future starter. Mougey and his scouting staff are doing their homework on an intriguing prospect. In a recent interview, Cincinnati linebacker Jake Golday said the Jets planned to meet with him face-to-face at his recent pro day (3/24) showcase.

" The New York Jets and Giants will be in town to meet me at pro da y," Golday told NFL Draft On SI . " Thatโ€™s just a snapshot. Iโ€™ve met with a bunch of teams .
