Tennessee basketball assistant coach Roman Tubner interviewed for a head coach position at Kennesaw State, according to Mitchell Northam of USA TODAY Sports . "Tennessee assistant coach Roman Tubner has interviewed for the head coach opening at Kennesaw State, according to multiple sources," Northam said . Tubner joined Kim Caldwell's coaching staff after she was hired at Tennessee.

He was previously an assistant coach at Alabama . He was the Crimson Tide's associate head coach in his final season in Tuscaloosa (2023-24) Tubner also served as assistant coach at Ball State (2021-23), UNC Wilmington (2019-20), Indiana State (2018-19), Austin Peay (2017-18), Arkansas Tech (2014-17) and Arkansas-Monticello (2013-14). Tubner was also a graduate assistant for Arkansas-Monticello's men's basketball team.

Kennesaw State went 13-17 (6-12 CUSA) in the 2025-26 season and fired head coach Octavia Blue. The Lady Vols were eliminated in the first round of the NCAA Tournament by North Carolina State on March 20.
