If that wasn't already abundantly clear, it should be after head coach Mike Vrabel was seen getting some hands-on work in with Arizona State Sun Devils offensive lineman Max Iheanachor at his Pro Day on Friday. A projected first-round pick, Iheanachor could be well within New England's range once it is closing in on being on the clock with the No. 31 overall pick, so it was eye-opening to see Vrabel getting to work with him.
Afterwards, Iheanachor revealed that he has already had a top-30 visit with the Pats, and that he has loved getting to know Vrabel and the rest of the coaching staff. “It was definitely fun," Iheanachor said of working with Vrabel. "It’s really a big blessing for me to be able to learn from him, and him just being hands-on, telling me what I need to work on ...
After the combine, I went in for a visit with them, so I’m very familiar with that coaching staff and everybody. ” Iheanachor's ability to play at the tackle spots on the o-line is likely what sticks out to New England, as he starred for Arizona State over the past two years. While Will Campbell and Morgan Moses are entrenched in the tackle positions for the time being, Campbell's recent struggles and Moses' age are likely going to lead to the team adding some depth at this spot in the draft.
