The growth of Arizona State’s football program under coach Kenny Dillingham was on full display at the school’s Pro Day on March 27 in front of dozens of NFL personnel. With 20 draft-eligible athletes working out, 31 of 32 NFL teams showed up. It was one of the largest turnouts ever for ASU, with the event taking longer than usual due to the large number of participants.
Among the notable names were New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel, New York Giants coach John Harbaugh, Atlanta Falcons coach Kevin Stefanski, Falcons president of football operations Matt Ryan and Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles. “Multiple people came up to me, ‘I was here a few years ago, I’ve been coming here for 15 years. ’ And then to say it was the most scouts.
It is pretty cool to be a part of that,” Dillingham said. “But it’s all about the players, and it always will be about the players. This is their day to go out there and shine.
“To be able to do that in front of a big crowd of scouts and coaches is really cool. Hopefully, it does grow, it does continue. Hopefully, it continues to be the norm here — that scouts know that this is where you come and you’re going to find NFL talent.
