Washington rolls to 18th straight win 16-7 over Iowa

Three big innings were more than enough for the Washington Huskies to secure their 18th straight victory, a 16-7 win on the road against the Iowa Hawkeyes . After trailing 3-0 early, coach Heather Tarr's team battled back and took the lead in the top of the third inning behind a pair of home runs. First, second baseman Jade Bubke blasted a solo home run as part of a 2-for-4 day with a pair of runs scored, before later in the inning, catcher Jadyn Glab launched a three-run homer to give the Huskies the lead.

Then, in the fourth inning, left fielder Ava Carroll was able to wreak some havoc without the ball ever leaving the infield. With the bases loaded, the former Mt. Hood Junior College transfer helped spark a seven-run inning with a ground ball to second baseman Kiara Sepe, who threw it away and pushed three runs across the plate to give the Huskies a healthy cushion before she blasted a three-run home run in the seventh inning to give her 6 runs batted in on the day.

Reigning D1Softball National Pitcher of the Week Morgan Reimer earned her NCAA-leading 18th win of the season, but was unable to finish off her seventh complete game of the year, as Ryan Maddox finished off the day. Her night ended after she let up 7 runs (5 earned) on 7 hits and 4 walks with 3 strikeouts and 3 hit batters over 6 1/3 innings.
