Spurs fan groups urge club to scrap Roberto De Zerbi pursuit Tottenham Hotspur are facing opposition from several supporters’ groups over the club’s reported interest in appointing Roberto De Zerbi as head coach. Three official fan organisations have publicly urged the club to reconsider pursuing the Italian manager. The groups include Proud Lilywhites, Women of the Lane and Spurs Reach.

All three released statements expressing concern about De Zerbi’s previous public support for Mason Greenwood. Tottenham are currently exploring managerial options as they evaluate the future of interim coach Igor Tudor. Tudor has struggled to improve results since taking charge, collecting only one point from five Premier League matches.

Those results have left Spurs hovering just above the relegation zone with only a handful of games remaining. Club officials are therefore considering potential replacements as they plan for both the immediate future and the longer term. De Zerbi has emerged as one of the candidates following his departure from Olympique Marseille earlier this year.

The former Brighton & Hove Albion manager is currently without a club. However, indications suggest De Zerbi would prefer to return to management during the summer rather than immediately. Despite Tottenham’s interest, supporters’ groups have warned the club to consider the broader implications of any appointment.

In a statement, Proud Lilywhites argued that the choice of manager sends an important message about the club’s values. “The manager plays a huge role in shaping how people feel and who feels welcome,” the group said. “When someone in that position publicly defends a player like Mason Greenwood and frames it in a way that downplays the seriousness of what happened, it matters.
