The comeback fell short and the Spartans season has ended with a Sweet 16 loss to UConn.

Michigan State basketball's season is over. The Spartans have fallen in the Sweet 16 to UConn, 67-63. In a game where the Spartans trailed by as many as 19 in the first half, the team came roaring back in the second half, even taking the lead at one point.

After taking the lead, the Huskies bounced back in a big way, and the Spartans could not recover a final time. Leading the way in the scoring department for MSU was Carson Cooper with 14 points, while Coen Carr and Jeremy Fears both had 13 points and Jaxon Kohler had 12 points. The 2025-26 season has now officially come to an end for Michigan State, who will have finished with a 27-8 record and a second weekend trip to the NCAA Tournament.
