Nebraska Baseball Takes Advantage of Indiana Miscues for 6-5 Win
The Hoosiers had costly errors and pitching mishaps leading to multiple NU runs.
Unger saves the Indiana win. | Nebraska Athletics This is always a series where the records don’t seem to matter. It could be a battle for 1st place, or a huge game in the Big Ten Tournament, or where one is seemingly a big underdog.
It almost always comes right down to the final at bat, and has seen its fair share of walk offs. They always bring out the best in each other and make for an outstanding The Huskers got thing started in the 2nd inning. Second baseman Jett Buck reached on a fielding error by the 3rd baseman.
Not a shock as the young Hoosier defense is average at best. Josh Overbeek had a long at back before striking out. DH Max Beuttenback followed with a long at bat himself, and on a full count was fooled by a off speed pitch and had his weight a little forward in the box, but was able to shoot his bat and hit a line drive that got a little assistance from the wind and landed just in the Hoosier bullpen for a 2 run home run.
Not as pretty as his tape measure blast on Sunday, but just as effective. 2-0 Big Red. Max effort.
