South Carolina faces re-match with Oklahoma in Sweet 16
SACRAMENTO, CA (WJBF)- The South Carolina Gamecocks are still dancing in the NCAA Tournament, as they traveled cross country to Sacramento to play in the Sweet 16. This is the Gamecock’s 12th straight sweet 16 appearance, taking on a Sooners team that they lost to in the regular season in overtime back in January. Dawn Staley’s squad is coming off two blowout wins over Southern and USC in the first and second rounds in Columbia, but they’re ready for the challenge of facing a familiar opponent.
“I think Oklahoma brings to the SEC that you’re prepared for a different style of play when you get to the tournament, like now,” said head coach Dawn Staley. “We don’t have to familiarize ourselves with someone who plays as fast as they play, or familiarize ourselves with having a big. ” Tip-off set for 5 p.
