Drew Fortescue earns assist in NHL debut for Rangers
Drew Fortescue, the first Don Bosco hockey player to reach the NHL, earned an assist in his NHL debut for the New York Rangers on March 27.
A lost season for the New York Rangers has turned into opportunities for the organization's top prospects. The latest to make his NHL debut for the Rangers, defenseman Drew Fortescue earned a point in his first game at Madison Square Garden. Fortescue was credited with a secondary assist on Jonny Brodzinski's second goal of the night, the final goal in a 6-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on March 27.

A native of Pearl River, NY, Fortescue played high school hockey at Don Bosco for two seasons from 2019-2021. Fortescue is the first hockey player to suit up for the Ironmen and reach the NHL level.
Fortescue signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Rangers on March 21 following the end of his final college season at Boston College.
