2026 NFL draft preview: Quarterback prospects and the Arizona Cardinals
Jess Root and Seth Cox talk quarterbacks in the NFL draft in their first position preview for the 2026 draft.
The NFL draft is under a month away, and the Arizona Cardinals have a lot of needs to address. One position getting a lot of attention is at quarterback, as the Cardinals are currently rolling out Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew for 2026. Their combined 37-75 record as starters and Brissett's 1-11 mark last year show they are not much of an option for the present and certainly are not the quarterbacks of the future.
In a new episode of the podcast , cohost Seth Cox and I begin our NFL draft preview shows regarding the Cardinals, and we focused on the quarterback position. We discussed the differences in Fernando Mendoza and Ty Simpson, the two guys expected to be first-round selections. We also talked about Garrett Nussmeier and Carson Beck as potential prospects for the Cardinals, as well as other guys like Drew Allar, Cole Payton, Cade Klubnik and others.
