Where was R Mason Thomas picked in Pete Prisco's mock draft?
Where was R Mason Thomas drafted in CBS Sports' mock draft?
The 2026 NFL Draft is less than one month away, and the Oklahoma Sooners have a total of 16 players who have exhausted their collegiate eligibility and are able to be selected in April. Of those 16 players, 14 (only WR Major Melson and TE Will Huggins did not) participated in OU's pro day earlier this month. While not every draftable Sooner will be selected, the first OU player to hear his name called will very likely be DL R Mason Thomas.
He's projected as a first or second round pick, but at least one analyst thinks he'll go much higher than the fringe of Round 1. CBS Sports' Pete Prisco released his first 2026 mock draft this week . He has Thomas being selected by the Dallas Cowboys with the 12th overall pick, despite ranking him as the 41st-best overall prospect and the sixth-best edge-rusher.
"The Cowboys have to get some twitchy help on the edge. Thomas can do that. He isn't big at 6-foot-2 and 240 pounds, but he would fit the new defense.
This would seem high for him, but watch his tape. " - Pete Prisco, CBS Sports. During his time at Oklahoma, Thomas became an excellent defensive end under head coach Brent Venables.
