Michigan State’s practice Saturday will have many top recruits at it as the Spartans continue to build momentum and relationships in the 2027 and 2028 classes. The highest-ranked visitor is actually a 2028 recruit, Detroit Cass Tech’s Antijuan Wilkes, a 6-foot-6, 280-pound offensive tackle who Rivals has ranked the No. 5 overall recruit in the 2028 class and the No.
1 player at his position. Referred to as “Shaq” by his coaches and teammates, Wilkes fought through an early-season ankle injury to be the starting left tackle for Cass Tech's state-title game finalist last season and has earned many college offers in the process. The exciting part for recruiters and his coaches at Cass Tech is he still has a lot of room for development.
“His ceiling is through the roof,” Cass Tech head coach Marvin Rushing said. “To be a big man like him and be able to run and get down the field on screens and draws, he has a chance to be the most accomplished lineman to come out of Cass, and that says a lot. He has great work ethic.
He’s a team guy over everything, and I can’t wait to see what he does the next two years. ” Rushing said Wilkes grew up a Michigan State fan, but LSU, Auburn, Michigan, Ohio State and others have his attention as well and he plans to take several visits following Saturday’s trip to East Lansing. Several other Cass Tech recruits from the 2028 class also will be in East Lansing.
