President Donald Trump supports Tiger Woods after car crash: 'He's got some difficulty'
Trump awarded Woods the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2019.
President Donald Trump signaled his support for Tiger Woods after the golfing great’s car crash Friday . “I feel so badly,” Trump said after landing in Miami to speak at the Future Investment Initiative Priority Summit . “He’s got some difficulty.
There was an accident and that’s all I know. Very close friend of mine, he’s an amazing person, amazing man. But some difficulty.
” When asked if Woods was hurt, Trump said, “I don’t want to talk about it. ” To be clear, Trump made the comments before the Martin County Sheriff's Office told reporters that Woods had been arrested and charged with DUI. Sheriff John Budensiek said Woods attempted to overtake a pickup truck with a trailer at a high rate of speed in his Land Rover.
The maneuver allegedly resulted in his car clipping the truck at a high rate of speed and rolling over. Both drivers are reportedly uninjured. Donald Trump and Tiger Woods have a history together.
