Under the radar NFL free agent signing keeps NFC contender potent… and dangerous
The Detroit Lions didn’t sign Greg Dortch to win March. They signed him to win Sundays – and it’s the type of under-the-radar move that keeps an NFC contender sharp – and relevant. Dortch signed a one-year deal with Detroit, reuniting with Lions offensive coordinator Drew Petzing, who coached him in Arizona, and Dortch flat-out said Petzing was a big reason he chose the Lions.
The contract is basically the definition of low-risk in the NFL – 1 year, $1. 4M, with $1. 075M guaranteed.

Dortch is a slot-capable receiver and a returner who can handle the dirty work that keeps an offense on schedule and keeps the field tilted. He’s also the type of player defenses forget about until he’s moving the chains on third-and-5 because the coverage is obsessed with the other names. And yes – the other names are the point.
Amon-Ra St. Brown as the engine and Jameson Williams as the stretch. Dortch doesn’t have to be a hero.
