Switzerland 3-4 Germany: Initial Observations and Reactions
Florian Wirtz dominated Switzerland with two goals and two assists in his best performance of the season.

His move to Liverpool has been met with plenty of criticism but he looked very comfortable being the superstar tonight. Germany bounced back and forth between being a patient yet impressive possession team or an unorganized disaster with no ambition. Nick Woltemade is a better fit than Kai Havertz in this team and it is not particularly close.
That was a rough outing for 35-year old goalkeeper Oliver Baumann. Poor positioning and worse reaction speed doomed him to failure on two of Switzerland’s three goals. Age and experience is generally better at the defensive positions but not if it also serves as a detriment.
He finished the night with zero saves to Gregor Kobel’s five saves. Lennart Karl earned his first international cap and made the game look easy, constantly confounding Miro Muheim with quick passing, dribbling and off-the-ball movement. Germany will play another friendly on Monday against Ghana.
