Is Aden Holloway playing today for Alabama vs Michigan? It doesn't appear so for now. News broke Friday morning that Holloway was granted permission by a Tuscaloosa District Court to travel out of the state as Alabama basketball prepares to face Michigan in Chicago for their Sweet 16 game.
However, Alabama coach Nate Oats said in a statement "nothing has changed with regard to Adenโs status with the team. " Holloway was granted permission to travel out of state after having made a request to do so Thursday night. He was listed as out on the team's availability report leading up to the game.
He also needed to be cleared of a pending investigation by the University Office of Student Conduct. The 21-year-old had been suspended from campus after he was arrested just before the NCAA Tournament when police said they found more than two pounds of marijuana at his Tuscaloosa home. Holloway was arrested on March 16 and charged with first-degree possession of marijuana and failure to affix a tax stamp.
