Set to begin their season this weekend, Alabama has two former players on UFL rosters entering the 2026 campaign.

This weekend, the 2026 United Football League (UFL) season officially begins with four matchups played across the nation during Week 1. On Friday night, the Birmingham Stallions travel to face the Louisville Kings to open the season, while two games will be played Saturday. Those are the DC Defenders traveling to face the St.

Louis Battlehawks, as well as the Houston Roughnecks facing the Dallas Renegades in Frisco, Texas. Week 1 will conclude Sunday night when the Orlando Storm host the Columbus Aviators. Similar to the NFL, the UFL has former Alabama Crimson Tide football players on multiple rosters, although that current number is a bit smaller compared to previous years.

Among that representation is also former quarterback AJ McCarron, who enters his first season as a head coach in 2026 with the Birmingham Stallions. Following is a look at which former Alabama players are currently on UFL rosters entering the 2026 season. Alabama football players on 2026 UFL rosters Christopher Allen , Middle Linebacker - Houston Gamblers Isaiah Buggs , Defensive End - Orlando Storm Allen returns to the Gamblers for the 2026 season after appearing in eight games for Houston a year ago.

The former Alabama outside linebacker recorded 18 total tackles, three TFL, one sack, and a pass breakup last season. Buggs also returns to the UFL this season after spending the 2025 campaign with the San Antonio Brahmas, which are no longer a member of the league. The former Alabama defensive lineman is on the Orlando Storm, one of the UFL's newest teams this season.
