He is also regarded as “Mr. 305” by many. That said, when it came time for the FIU Panthers to rename their football stadium, the rapper jumped at the opportunity.
He officially acquired the naming rights to the stadium on August 6th, 2024 and renamed the facilities to “Pitbull Stadium. ” It was a five-year deal where he would pay $1. 2 million annually, totaling $6 million.
Within the contract details, he was required to post 12 social media posts a year promoting FIU athletics, appear at a minimum of one athletic fundraising event, and create an anthem for FIU athletics. It’s been reported by Newsbreak that he’s only posted eight times to his social media, has not shown up to any fundraising events, and has not created an anthem for the school.
