Official: Four Barcelona players start for Spain against Serbia FC Barcelona have a large representation in the Spain national team squad for their friendly matches in the current international break. Indeed, as many as seven Blaugrana stars have been called up to the squad by manager Luis de la Fuente as final preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup get underway. Indeed, defender Pau Cubarsi , midfielders Pedri and Fermin Lopez , and forward Lamine Yamal all start for La Roja against Serbia. While Pedri and Lamine Yamal have been permanent fixtures in the Spain setup under De la Fuente, Cubarsi and Fermin will be aiming to cement their places in the side with strong performances leading up to the World Cup. Meanwhile, two Barcelona stars, Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres, find themselves among the substitutes and are expected to get minutes off the bench later in the game.
Goalkeeper Joan Garcia, who has earned his first-ever call-up for Spain, is not part of the squad for tonight’s friendly.
