Vikings submit bid to host the 2028 NFL Draft

Yahoo Sports

The Vikings are making a run at hosting the 2028 NFL Draft.

The NFL Draft is in Pittsburgh next month, and the city is doing what it can to prepare for the entire NFL world to migrate to it. Schools are going virtual for the week, public works in the city are changing driving routes, and they are expecting close to a million people. It will be a seismic event for the city, and it is an event that every city wants to host for that reason.

In 2027, the draft will take place in Washington, D. C. as the Commanders host it, but no team has been decided for 2028.

The league likes to scope things out two years in advance, so a decision should come soon for the next city to host. That is where the Minnesota Vikings are stepping up to the plate. ESPN's Kevin Seifert shared on social media that, "The Minnesota Sports and Events Commission has submitted a formal bid to host the 2028 NFL draft in Minneapolis, in a set-up that surrounds U.

S. Bank Stadium, per MNSE president/CEO Wendy Blackshaw. " If the Vikings hosted it, it would complete the NFC North hosting the event.
